Recruitment process
We want to take you on a journey of discovery. We believe that you should learn as much about our industry and the various roles and opportunities as we do about your potential. This is a fabulous once in a lifetime chance to be selected to join one of the most creative groups in the world and be part of the Omnicom culture.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for creative, enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about brands and marketing. We are interested in those of you who have a genuine interest in business and the role that marketing plays.
We do not specify any degree discipline at all, it is about you as people that we are most interested in. Past graduates have come from a range of degrees from Classical studies to Anthropology, Ethnography to Journalism and the Arts. Scientific degrees are particularly sought after for our Healthcare Marketing Stream but once again this isn’t a must.
The only thing we require is academic excellence: at least a 2:1 and 340 UCAS points.
Our recruitment journey
Throughout the recruitment process you will be exposed to various talent and business people from different DAS and Omnicom agencies. They will also be looking for exceptional graduates to join their own agencies and although the Accelerate Scheme might not be right for you, there are also opportunities for other positions within the network.
To make you aware of what happens during the recruitment process, below are the 3 key steps. We advise you to write down the dates in your diary to make sure that you will be available.
All applications require the candidates to work, live and have the right to remain indefinitely in the UK.
Step 1 - Reviewing applications
We ask all applicants to submit a covering letter letting us know why we should invite you to one of our open days, CV and a 300-word brand essay entitled ‘A brand I think needs makeover and how I would do it.'
We look for accuracy, passion and potential. Our advice to you is to be genuine and proud of what you send us. Check for typos and spelling mistakes and make sure your essay is your personal opinion and not from a recent lecture.
A few days after the deadline we will contact all of you we wish to meet.
Step 2 – Open Days
Our Open Days this year will be held on 4th and 11th February 2010. Selected applicants spend a day with us learning about the industry, the roles and the scheme itself. You will also have an interview. Senior members of our organisation along with current and past graduates will be there to answer all your questions.
We then select 20 successful candidates through to the final stage, Selection Day.
Step 3 – Selection Day
Selection Day will be held on the 23rd February 2010. During the day you will be asked to do a presentation and answer questions on a brief given to you on the day. You will also take part in a networking exercise and finish the day with a short close interview.
We then spend the afternoon deciding who the final graduates will be. You will be contacted shortly after to be told whether you have been successful or not. For the lucky few your Accelerate career starts! First agency placements start in September 2010.
Convinced? Don’t delay, send us your application now.
